Felix Lenferink, one of the many aliases of the prolific Steve Mensink, operates on the highly fertile intersection where House meets Bass. This EP shows off his capability not just to blend these two genres, but take it to another level. Within the length of three tracks, simply entitled First, Second and Third Forlane, we are being treated to fresh broken drum rhythms, lush harmonics and intricate atmospheres of sound. On the Third Forlane, the female vocals even add a tasty, sexy vibe to complement the top-notch production skills by Felix Lenferink.
After delivering a killer set in the Boiler Room recently, prominently featuring some of the tracks from this EP, the potential of Steve’s talent has become undeniable. You may also know his productional skills from recent successful releases on Rotterdam’s Triphouse label as Frits Wentink, his releases on Fourth Wave, the sublabel of Ramp, and his release on Lomechanik as Urkelle.
The vinyl release also features some extraordinary artwork and a poster, based on the amazing home-built MIDI-controller, crafted out of wood, which Steve designed especially for this release.
